Hayley & Philip were married on 2nd June 2012, the jubilee weekend, at Headlam Hall Hotel. We are very lucky to visit Headlam Hall regularly and it is definitely one of our favourite venues. Headlam Hall is a beautiful 17th century country mansion with stunning grounds and a photographic opportunity around every corner. Given the time of year everyone was expecting a fine day but, unfortunately, the British weather had other ideas and there was drizzle all day. This wasn’t going to dampen anyone’s spirits however and a good time was had by all.
Hayley was very excited when we met her before the service and was enjoying having her hair and make-up done and generally being pampered by Rebecca Wright. When she changed into her Ellis dress and fantastic Bourne Collection shoes from Grace everyone had a lump in their throats as she looked so radiant and beautiful. Her bridesmaids wore pretty sky blue dresses from Sense of Style and all the colours tied in beautifully with their pastel coloured bouquets from Claire Metcalfe. Whilst we took some shots of Hayley getting ready her two flower girls were busy writing a very sweet letter to the best man to calm his nerves when it came to the speeches!
Philip and his best man looked very smart in their suits from Moss Bros and cravats from Sense of Style and we got some great shots using the side doorway of the house as a background.
The service was wonderful and there were beautiful readings from Katie Rogers and Rosalind Thomson which brought a tear to many eyes. After the service everyone gathered under the Union Jack clad canopy after being given bubbles by the two flower girls and we got some really fun shots of Hayley & Philip walking down through their guests. Despite the terrible weather we got a slightly drier spell just when we needed it and took Hayley & Philip around the beautiful grounds of Headlam Hall. With a bit of Photoshop magic afterwards you would never know it had been raining!
Everyone enjoyed themselves in the stable bar after the service which allowed us to get some lovely, natural shots of everyone chatting and admiring Hayley! Before we left we photographed the room before the wedding breakfast. It looked stunning, as ever, and Hayley & Philip had decided to have a cosy table for two in front of the fire place. The whole room was decorated with flowers by Claire Metcalfe and a wonderful cake, made by Irene Patricia Bickley (Hayley’s Nan) and Elizabeth Blacket (Hayley’s Great Aunt) took pride of place.
Hayley & Philip thoroughly enjoyed their honeymoon in Mauritius and have just seen their wedding photographs with which they are very pleased. We can’t wait to see what they choose for their album.
