Lucy & Stuart were married on the 8th September 2013 at, the wonderful, Crab Manor, a fantastically quirky venue near Thirsk, North Yorkshire. With beautiful gardens, Crab Manor is a photographer’s dream!
We met Lucy before when she came to the studio for a portrait session. Being a fitness instructor, Lucy was keen to get some marketing shots to show just how fit she is. See the blog here. So, when her and Stuart came to the studio to book their wedding photography we were thrilled!
When I arrived at Crab Manor, Lucy seemed very calm and collected having the finishing touches done to her hair and make-up by Sheryl Blakeburn. Daughter Layla looked as pretty as a picture in her bridesmaids dress from I Love Gorgeous, and even Layla’s toy piglet had dressed up for the occasion! Lucy looked absolutely stunning, and even more so when she changed into her beautiful dress from Ava Rose Hamilton and the outfit was beautifully finished with a bouquet from Claire Metcalfe of Darlington.
Meanwhile, outside, guests were gathering and Stuart’s nerves were building! No more so than when the time came for everyone to gather in the ceremony room and await Lucy’s arrival on her Dad’s arm. Before long everyone was gasping at how beautiful Lucy looked as she walked in to harp music and smiling faces.
The service that followed was lovely, with a gorgeous reading from Layla which left everyone with tears in their eyes and afterwards everyone gathered outside for confetti and photographs. After some group shots and time to chat to guests, we took a walk around the beautiful gardens, along with Layla who had fun collecting pears, and got some shots in the many lovely places.
The room looked fantastic with quirky additions to the table such as Toby jugs and flowers in teapots and there was a fantastic cake by Sandra Simpson of Crescent Cakes with a fairytale likeness of the happy couple on top. Before I left, we couldn’t resist paying the yeti a visit (I told you Crab Manor was quirky!) for a ‘bit of daft’.
